Nursery Unit
Children may be admitted to the unit when they have reached their third birthday – if there are current vacancies. Admissions are in chronological order in accordance with the names of children on the waiting list at that time. There is no defined community for the nursery. Names may be placed on the waiting list from the age of two. 52 children attend morning or afternoon sessions on a part time basis.
Admission to the nursery department does not mean automatic entry into the school. Please see the school admission procedure.
Main school admission
Children normally begin full time education in the infant department at the beginning of the term in which they are five years old. Parents must apply for admission to the school by a date set by the LEA in the previous year. A limit of 40 has been set by the LEA up-to and including this number of applications will be accepted. If the number of applications exceeds the 40 then the LEA will determine who will be admitted.
A tour of the school can be arranged if parents so desire, by contacting the Headteacher or the school secretary.
